This project is a study of the past results of the Illinois Lottery
in order to make more educated wagers on future drawings. Using the tabs above, you can select variou output
methods. Here's a description of each: Ball Distribution: Shows how often each ball is picked, regardless of position. The graphs on the right side show relative amounts of how often the number has been picked. The bright red section shows how far above average the number has been picked, while the darker red shows how far below average is has been picked. Result Distribution: Same as the Ball Distr, except shows how often entire picks have come up. Warning: this selection may take a while to load, as it is rather information-heavy. Position Distribution: This displays the frequency of each ball in each position. For Permutation (order-dependent) games such as Pick 3 and Pick 4, this will look like a relatively even graph. For Combination (order-independent) games, it will appear in a diagonal fashion. Note: For the Mega Millions, the sixth ball is drawn separately from the other five, which explains why the 6th column appears so random. Progression: Shows relative percentages of each ball's frequency. As time progresses, these numbers will become more even, but sometimes you can see numbers peak a bit. Note: for longer data sets (many years), there will be a lot of output. Please be patient with this one. Hot Picks: This table shows the frequencies of balls picks within a certain number of days. The higher above average a number is, it will turn green. Below-average picks will turn red as they fall farther below normal. Average picks will stay black. Note: Games Lotto 7 (04/1987-05/1988) and Lotto Alternate (02/1983-05/1984) are NOT included in Lotto statistics. |
